Join teacher Chris Rago for a “hands on” demonstration as she sets up a compost pile at the farm and shows you how to make one in your own backyard. Learn about the three R’s of recycling. Make a newspaper pot and plant a seed to take home. Make a silo “piggy” bank from recycled oatmeal boxes. Take home information on composting and soil testing. FREE.

Plant a Pumpkin Patch

Join us as we plant a few different varieties of pumpkins at the farm. Pumpkin expert Todd Mervosh will lead the event. Plant a seed, tend it over the summer and harvest your own pumpkin in the fall. Little farmers are welcome to help! FREE.

Join us for a Harvest Dinner& Silent Auction featuring delectable dishes using produce, herbs and other ingredients from local farms all prepared by chefs and students from Connecticut Culinary Institute. You don’t want to miss this event the 2007 dinner sold out!
One of Connecticut's Premier special event bands. The Fast Lane Band has great delivery from a song-list overflowing with Hits of the 60's & 70's, and then some. Crossing over from one music style to another, they cover tunes from the favorites of Country, Pop/Rock , Southern Rock, Soul/Funk. Although the group is led by a versatile female vocalist, all of the Band members sing. Their calendar of engagements is based toward the Connecticut shore, playing Town fairs, Theme Parks, Entertainment Clubs, & Restaurants.
We're glad to welcome them to this year's Harvest Dinner at Hilltop FarmFest!
